South Gulf Coast

The South Gulf Coast of Texas is the perfect place for those who love life along the seashore. Most of this region lies within 50 miles of the lovely beaches of Aransas Bay, Corpus Christi, Padre Island and Laguna Madre. The mild climate allows for fun in the sun and surf nearly all of the year.
Corpus Christi provides additional attractions, including the Texas State Aquarium, the World War II-era aircraft carrier U.S.S. Lexington, and Texas League baseball with the AA Hooks. Farther inland, Lake Corpus Christi provides freshwater fun.
The South Gulf Coast is an excellent area for watching birds, catching fish and eating from the bounty of the nearby ocean. In the south, Brownsville beckons with a world-class zoo and proximity to activities south of the border in Mexico
