East Texas

The cool, inviting pine forests of East Texas entice the visitor to slow down and enjoy the natural beauty of this region. Thousands of acres of pines mix with oaks, maples, dogwoods, sweet gums and more to give this area the most beautiful fall color in Texas. Amid the trees are pleasant lakes great for boating and fishing. East Texas' reputation for great fishing is well-deserved, with bass, catfish, chain pickerel and more in plentiful supply.

East Texas is rich in history as well, from Texas' oldest town at Nacogdoches to her first capital at Washington-on-the-Brazos. Numerous museums and historical attractions dot the region for you to discover, and some of the friendliest people in the Lone Star State will be there to welcome you.
