Texas Cities Update

February 05, 2010 TXCG by matt Edit

We have been receiving questions about other cities in Texas that do not have TACO parks appearing in the search. Before our update our list only encompassed cities that had a TACO Member park. Now we have modified it so that if you have a surrounding city that you think would benefit yourself or other parks, please let us know and we will add it to the site.  If it hadn't been for a few parks bringing this to our attention it may have never been added to the site.  This is what we hope our members can bring to the table, and when you do we really do appropriate it.  So as always if you have any thoughts or concerns please fill out our contact form.

Thank You

Search Result Listings

January 15, 2010 TXCG by matt Edit

One of the most exciting new features on the new TexasCampgrounds.com are our new search result listings. In the past TexasCampgrounds.com displayed the search results with a list of campgrounds.  This format was good for quickly getting the parks displayed, but was lacking in pure content. With our new search results each time a camper searches they are given a picture, city/region the park is located, a grid of amenities, brief write-up, and links to various reservations and review platforms.  We feel this gives the camper better access to information about the park.  The overall goal of TexasCampgrounds.com is and has always been to bring campers to the parks. We feel that the best way to do that, is to give the camper the most information possible.

Searching for a Park

January 07, 2010 Camping by matt Edit

With our new site, we decided to go back to the drawing board and try to determine what campers wanted when looking for a park. Our old site based everything off of two "major cities" and the parks actual city. We figured that anyone that was looking for a park would find what they needed through one of those options.  We found that while that was a good way of doing it, there could be a better way.  What we have done in our new site is dynamically created those search results based on what city you choose.
